Angela
Detanico and Rafael Lain had already been collaborating with Japanese coreographer/dancers
Takeshi
Yasaki and Megumi Matsumoto on this dance piece for a while when they asked
me to become involved.
A geometric, largely monochromatic animation is projected onto the floor setting
up a relationship with the dancers. My soundtrack, a mixture of electronic sounds,
location recordings and instrumental fragments, is improvised according to a
prearranged sequence.
My participation in this project was made possible with the support of the
Centre
Culturel Irlandais, Paris and
La
Ferme du Buisson.
Performances have taken place at La Ferme du Buisson, France (Feb 2006) and
Namura Art Meeting, Japan (Sept 2007).
