VOLUME

Equipment set-up at the bottom of the atrium space
at the back of the gallery.
Volume is an annual exhibition and performance series at Temple Bar Galleries, Dublin dedicated to practitioners working with sound. I participated in the inaugural event.

I set myself up at the bottom of the atrium space at the back of the gallery. A microphone pointing out the window on the first floor relayed sounds from the street outside to my computer. I began improvising, manipulating these Friday night sounds with my computer. Fragments of these improvisations were then distributed among speakers on the upper three floors of the atrium space where the audience were located, tracing trajectories from speaker to speaker, moving the sound through the atrium space.
