Anti-tour No.1 - Magic Hour. Porto Alegre, Brazil. Jan 2006.

MP3 Claudia Hersz' apartment, Rio de Janeiro, Jan 2006.
There have been several anti-tours, each beginning with the same template which then mutates as a result of circumstance. In each case I organise a tour of domestic spaces and perform a soundtrack to the view from each place, perferably around sunset. Each soundtrack is improvised using a computer, which is amplified through the host's stereo system.

Initially, a call for participation is issued using some appropriate method - posters, mailing lists, word of mouth. If people contact me and agree to host a concert, we arrange the time and day when it will take place. They invite their friends to the concert and agree to make me a meal as payment for my efforts. Each concert lasts about 45 minutes.

The name anti-tour came out of a conversation with Rafael Lain.

Supported by the Arts Council of Ireland, VOID, Model Art & Niland Gallery, Encuentro de Medellin and Culture Ireland.
